About Teacher Off Duty

Teacher Off Duty (the "Service") is an AI-powered tool that helps teachers turn their curriculum into ready-to-teach substitute teacher plans, emergency plans, remote learning plans, extended leave plans, and substitute binder documents. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic account details. We use this to authenticate you, manage your subscription, and provide access to your saved plans.

We may send occasional account or trial-related emails to help you use SubPlans Studio, including reminders about an active free trial. You can reply to those emails if you do not want to receive trial reminders.

We may invite you by email to share optional feedback about SubPlans Studio. If you respond, we store your answers with your account so we can understand what is working and improve the product, and they are removed if your account is deleted. The survey does not ask for student information, and please do not include any in your answers.

Teacher Profile & Classroom Information

You may enter teacher profile and classroom information—such as grade level, subjects, schedules, routines, and procedures—to generate more useful plans. This information is stored with your account so you can reuse it across plans.

Generated Plans & Saved Content

Plans you generate and save are stored with your account. You can view, edit, and delete your saved plans at any time from My Documents.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Teacher Off Duty does not store your full credit card number. Payment data is handled according to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Analytics & Service Operations

We use basic analytics and service-operation logs to understand how the Service is used, improve features, keep the Service running, and troubleshoot issues. This may include aggregated, non-identifying usage data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell user classroom content. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the Service (for example, Stripe for payment processing), and as required by law.

Security

We take reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's & Student Information

Teacher Off Duty is intended for use by teachers and educators. Users should not enter sensitive personal information about students unless necessary and appropriate. Keep student information general (for example, use first names or initials rather than full identifying details).

Data Retention

We keep your account information, teacher profile, and saved plans for as long as your account is active so you can access and reuse them. You can delete individual saved plans at any time from My Documents. If your account is closed, we remove your account record, teacher profile, saved plans, and most trial and subscription records. However, to help prevent repeated free-trial abuse, we may retain a pseudonymous identifier derived from your email address after your account is deleted. This identifier does not contain your email address itself — it's created using a one-way cryptographic process and is used only to check whether that same email identity has previously received a free trial. We may also retain limited billing, security, and other operational records where needed for accounting, fraud or abuse prevention, or legal purposes. Uploaded files, such as curriculum files or student photos, are stored privately. Our storage provider does not currently let us delete individual files, so those files may remain in storage after the related account records are deleted, although they are no longer linked to the account in the app.

Accessing or Deleting Your Information

You can view and update your teacher profile at any time, and view, edit, or delete your saved plans from My Documents. To request deletion of your account and its associated data, email us at support@subplansstudio.com and we will process your request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date shown above. Continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
